This 808** serial 19018 is simply the best vintage Rolex Day Date Oysterquartz we have seen. This example features an unusual and original striped tapestry dial, and perfectly preserved case and bracelet. This watch was originally retailed in 1985 and comes with its original papers as well as Rolex UK service papers from July 2015, at which point the battery was changed, the movement tested and it is now of course warranted until July 2017. Strict instructions were given to NOT polish the case and bracelet as these are original. Oysterquartz cases, given their design, are prone to over polishing, which loses the 1970s and 1980s style of the piece. T Time tested and functioning perfectly.The watch is sold with a (now rare) Day Date Oysterquartz box and booklet, although please note the interior of the box is a later replacement.

History
Following the 1970s trend to go quartz, Rolex responded by introducing the Rolex Oysterquartz, which had all of the excellent Rolex qualities coupled to a highly complicated and market leading quartz movement. The design was by Gerald Genta. Produced with an in-house movement from 1977 until 2001, it is widely accepted that 25,000 Rolex Oysterquartz watches (steel, steel and gold, gold) were produced, making this model comparatively rare. Oysterquartz provide a great vintage look and we at Vintage and Prestige love these watches.
