This rare 9ct Rolex Date is dated 1960 on a 100**** serial is presented in excellent condition. The original champagne coloured dial and rare gold dauphine hands sit beautifully under a renewed perspex glass and this watch defines vintage luxury. With a polished bezel, our gold vintage Rolex 1500 Date suits business or casual attire perfectly and this watch has been time tested with excellent results. This Rolex 1500 has been fitted to a calf skin black leather strap (which can be changed if desired) with a Rolex tang buckle. Being 9ct gold, this watch would have originally been retailed in the UK or Commonwealth and it evokes 1960s elegance. This watch is fitted with an automatic movement. The watch will be sold with a presentation box.

History
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date (non-quickset) with perspex glass was produced from 1960 until 1983 and this particular model is reference 1500 which indicates a smooth bezel. Predominantly manufactured in stainless steel, these watches found favour as durable, reliable daily wearers. Rare are gold models, normally found in 14k or 18k gold. Rarer still are the 9ct UK models, particularly from the first year of manufacture. Vintage Gold Rolex watches have become hugely collectable in recent years, and in our opinion, this simple, uncluttered 1500 has excellent investment potential.
