Tudor Oyster Date Chronograph Monte Carlo 7159/0

Our vintage and extremely rare Tudor Oyster Date Chronograph reference 7159/0 features a 40mm stainless steel case with polished bezel and stainless steel bracelet and a manually wound movement. Reference 7159/0 is known as a Monte Carlo given the colourful dial resembles a casino's roulette wheel. This particular Tudor Monte Carlo is presented in excellent condition for its age, which we date to circa 1972, bearing a 77 *** serial number. There are lights signs of use overall, and the dial notably has wonderful patina, the hands coeval . The Rolex bracelet is a replacement (possibly service with code O10) which dates to c.1990 and is reference 78360 with 589 end links. Included is inner and outer period correct boxes which are in excellent condition. Contrasting the cost of a similarly aged Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, with which much DNA is shared, these Tudor Monte Carlos seem still underrated although incredibly sought after by serious collectors , where this wonderful example has come from and is likely to be destined.
