Notes
Our vintage and rare Timor is an issued military watch, dating from 1945. The Dirty Dozen is a later nickname, relating to the twelve companies who tendered and supplied the British armed forces with wristwatches to MOD specification, from the middle of 1945, Timor being one of the twelve, and it is estimated that only 13000 were delivered by this supplier. This example is presented in good condition given its history, and features a 36mm case with fixed bars, large crown. This example with a 43 ** serial, indicating an early one, and has the desired syringe hands, which are coevally patinated to the dial which bears the broad arrow pheon (government/ crown). The Timor watches were powered by a cal 6060 15 jewel manually wound movement. On the case back, there is an additional broad arrow, as well as WWW indicating watch wrist waterproof, K indicating Timor. A very collectible and historical wristwatch, worthy of any serious collection, military focussed or otherwise.
