Rolex Submariner Date 1680 “Red Submariner”

Our vintage and rare Rolex Submariner Date, reference 1680 features a 40mm stainless steel case with bi directional rotating bezel. The dial has red Submariner writing. Presented in superb condition, the case is very sharp and there is coeval patination to the dial and hands, open 6 , one of the best Red Subs we have handled. This example comes without a stainless steel bracelet, a quality nato is fitted. With a 29 *** serial number, we date production to c.1973, both the serial and reference are clearly visible on the case. Included is inner box, English language Submariner booklet (with red Submariner pictured), 200m anchor, green wallet and warranty translation document stamped by Watches of Switzerland UK , and with date of purchase December 1974. The watch number and reference are not present on this document. A very collectible vintage sports Rolex.
