Our vintage and classic Rolex Submariner Date reference 1680 features a stainless steel 40mm case and stainless steel Oyster bracelet with flip lock clasp. The matte black dial and bezel, all of which have developed coeval patination, making for a distinctive and very attractive vintage Rolex Submariner presented in outstanding condition for its age. This 1680 comes with inner and outer box , green swing tag (without sticker) translation papers, warranty papers and service card. A 59 *** serial indicates manufacture in 1979, the bracelet clasp code is VD indicating the same. The warranty papers are hand written 1680 in lieu of the serial number and are stamped by the supplying dealer , the Arabic date, name and address of the original purchased would indicate it sold on 25th September 1980 by Kamar (a leading and long established premium Egyptian dealer) to a gentleman living in Alexandria, Egypt. It was subsequently serviced (card included) in 2015 by Gasser, still the Rolex main agent in Cairo, Egypt. We understand this Submariner was with the original owner at this time until being acquired by a collector, and to the market now direct from this collection. This is a stand out vintage Rolex likely destined for another serious collection.
