Notes
Our very rare Rolex GMT Master reference 1675 (1675/8 internally to Rolex) features a 18k yellow gold 40mm case, brown 'nipple' dial and brown/ gold rotating bezel. This is a very desirable reference of the Rolex GMT Master, dating from 1972, also known as the Root beer (for the colours), or Concorde GMT (as it featured in the Rolex/ Concorde pilot advertisements in the 1960s). This example has matching hands and coeval patina to the nipple style indices, and presents very well given its age. Fitted to a quality leather strap and gold tone tang buckle, this presents beautifully for daily use or special occasions, an understated gold Rolex. Coming directly from a collection, and likely destined for another, included is a Rolex Service pouch, redacted copy of a Rolex service invoice (Rolex service centre UK) undertaken in 2011, detailing the £1000 spent, including a brown/ gold revolving bezel, which likely replaced the original it had. Notably the Rolex service papers date the watch to 1972. Also included is a redacted copy of a full service and refurbishment undertaken by a European specialist watchmaker totalling the equivalent of £1000 spent in July 2024 with print outs attesting the timekeeping and water test. This is a great opportunity to acquire one of the most iconic Rolex in precious metal.
