Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse 3548J

Our rare vintage Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse, reference 3548 J, features an 18k yellow gold elliptical case (27mm x 32mm) with 18k yellow gold integral bracelet and blued dial. The Golden Ellipse is still in production today, albeit as a different reference and slightly larger case. Introduced in 1968, the Ellipse is one of Patek Philippe's most iconic designs, intended, successfully, to be an distinctive luxury watch for the era's most illustrious wearers. The dial on this example is signed O SWISS O indicating that this early example has an all gold dial with a cobalt (blue) compound covering which has light patination. Presented in absolutely outstanding condition for its age, there is little sign of fifty years use to the bracelet and the case is strong. This is an early Golden Ellipse, with extract from the Patek Philippe archive dated 2006, showing that this example was originally retailed in 1971, just three years after the reference was launched. Included is a presentation box, as neither the original, nor the original papers are included, as may be expected given the age.
