Omega Seamaster Jumbo 2996 4 SC

Our vintage and rare Omega reference 2996 4 SC is an unusual watch. This case, of 36mm (38mm inc crown) x 44mm lug to lug, was also used for the Seamaster/ Ranchero references. The black dial on this example has the gilt applied Omega log and is without model designation. The dial has also developed a lovely patina. Powered by a manually wound 17 jewel cal 285 movement, and bearing a 18 **** serial, we date production to c. 1961. Notably, the case back is engraved Mr R Wells, 589631 RAF and we consider it possibly to have been a private purchase when in service (hence the service number), in which case likely NAAFI stores. We have fitted a quality black leather strap and steel tang buckle. This is a superb and rare vintage Omega in a contemporary size.
