Nimrod 2000 presentation set

A very rare presentation set, to commemorate the contract award to manufacture the Nimrod 2000/ later Nimrod MRA4. We understand these were issued to key executives who were part of the winning bid team. Presented in outstanding condition, without notable signs of use, the set comprises; outer sleeve, blue box "Nimrod 2000", card "in appreciation of your role in the successful Nimrod bid team / Nimrod 2000 The British Solution", gold coloured steel cufflinks, gold coloured steel tie slide and lapel pin. Background: The BAE Systems Nimrod MRA4 was a planned but project abandoned launch of a new patrol and attack aircraft intended to replace the Hawker Siddeley Nimrod MR2. This £2bn contract was awarded to British Aerospace in July 1996. This set would make a superb addition to an aviation or military enthusiasts collection.
