A special reedition watch from Longines' heritage collection, our Longines Weems Second Setting reference L2.713.4.13.2 evokes the aviation watches worn by pilots in the early age of aviation and during WW2. The second setting pilot's watch is named Weems after Captain Philip Van Horn Weems.

An American, Weems designed a watch for navigators in the 1920s, with a disc movable, to measure precise time. This design was patented, and Longines was an early adopter introducing the Longines Weems Second-Setting wristwatch, a large high visibility timepiece, in 1929.

Reference L2.713.4.13.2 was discontinued, as we understand, in 2019, with a last known retail price of £3500.

Part of the Longines Heritage range, our Weems, with 47.8mm stainless steel case and leather strap with tang buckle, is a complete set, direct from a collection. Retailed in the UK in 2012, it comprises inner and outer special box, hardback book, secondary tang with short strap instructions and warranty card dated 2012. A superb addition to an aviators collection as this example shows little to no signs of use and is virtually indistinguishable from new condition.
