Notes
Reference L2.713.4.13.2, is a special re-edition watch from Longines' heritage collection, the Weems Second Setting reference evokes the aviation watches worn by pilots in the early age of aviation and during WW2. The second setting pilot's watch is named Weems after Captain Philip Van Horn Weems. An American, Weems designed a watch for navigators in the 1920s, with a movable disc, to measure precise time. This design was patented, and Longines was an early adopter introducing the Longines Weems Second-Setting wristwatch, a large high visibility timepiece, in 1929. Reference L2.713.4.13.2 was discontinued, as we understand, in 2019, with a last known retail price of £3500. Part of the Longines Heritage range, our Weems, with 47.8mm stainless steel case and leather strap with tang buckle, is a complete set, direct from a collection. First retailed in the UK in 2011 by a well recognised Longines authorised dealer, this example comprises: inner and outer special box, hardback book, secondary tang with short strap, instructions and warranty card dated 2011. A superb addition to an aviators collection as this example shows only little signs of use and is in close to ex display condition.
