Notes
German cold war era periscope binoculars, 10x 50: These Carl Zeiss binoculars offer a deep magnification of 10x with optics of 50mm, providing detailed observation across a wide angle. Designed initially to be mounted for use on tanks, they were quickly adopted for use in key strategic locations such as the Berlin Wall throughout the Cold War period and division of Berlin. Over-engineered, the periscope may be turned in use, with the fine adjustments allowing for rapid re-focussing on subjects of interest. Dating to c.1960s, these Carl Zeiss binoculars have been restored, serviced and ready for use, mounted to a wood and metal tripod. Whilst the original brief was distant observation whilst the user may remain out of site, the design offers superb Space era looks and certain to centre any conversation. Ideal for any room with a view, whether city, rural or coastal, and a statement piece in any setting.
