Cartier Santos Automatic 2961 ‘jumbo’

One of the earliest Cartier Santos Automatic, arguably the most recognisable modern Cartier, our reference 2691 in yellow gold and stainless steel, is the jumbo size , with 29 x 41mm case. The unpolished (we consider from new) case shows light signs of use, and the original bracelet features the earliest numbered style. Also present are the correct "must de Cartier" box, albeit without inner c clip, must de cartier black book of agreed agents, montres santos silver and grey instructions and blank/ unfilled Certificate card. Of note to a collector is the English language instruction book, stating "all Santos watches are equipped with Cartier automatic high precision movements". We date this Cartier to the late 1970s/ early 1980s, the instructions are copyright 1979. A full service has been completed on this watch. A complete set, unpolished and a very rare addition for a serious Cartier collection.
