This “complete set” authentic Rolex Datejust 16003 differs from more common Datejusts given its smooth bezel, denoted by the reference number. This example is particularly interesting as the case dates from 1979 (59** serial) although the watch was retailed in 1993 which is also the date stamp of the Jubilee bracelet, which is fitted to the watch. It is likely the watch was held in inventory by the Authorised dealer for some time, which happens rarely, and that the buyer specified a Jubilee bracelet over the Oyster. The watch has subsequently been serviced in 2003 and all accompanying paperwork comes with the watch, along with its original box. This example has been well used but cared for, the bracelet shows the usual use and stretch, the dial has later hands as would be expected with a serviced watch. Representing huge value for money, this watch would ideally suit dress or daily wear. Time tested and functioning perfectly.
