Our vintage Rolex Day-Date reference 18038 features a 36mm 18ct yellow gold case with 18ct yellow gold president bracelet. This example is comfortably the best reference 18038 we have handled, coming direct from the first and only owner's family. There are only very light signs of use overall, it is unpolished from new, the caseback sticker is still in place with faint 18038 visible. There is no visible stretch to the bracelet and it presents as a far newer watch. Included is its original inner and outer box, Rolex notepad (unused), swing tag with serial, 1978/9 calendar, Rolex Datejust instruction booklet , Rolex Oyster booklet, translation booklet and warranty papers , handwritten with reference and serial, dated January 1980 and with supplying dealer stamp: Ghadah Jewellery Doha Qatar, as well as a cut out from a period magazine, with Frederick Forsyth as the Rolex ambassador for the Day-Date, we understand used as reference for the owner's original order. We have seen similar watches in period sold with non chronometer / handwritten papers in duty free or Naafi outlets. This was sold in a similar environment. A unique opportunity and definitely a collection worthy 18038.
