Japanese post war 20 x 120 3 degree Binoculars by Nikon. 

These Nikon Marine Binoculars are designed for marine use, both civilian and naval. 

Presented here are a rare, large and extremely high quality polished set of steel and brass binoculars, manufactured by Nikon bearing the marker of 20 x 120 III 3 degree Nippon Kogaku Japan. These are amongst the best optics in the world, designed for viewing the far horizon whilst at sea, mounted to a ship with extreme magnification capability. They have exceptional optics with the 20 indicating the degree of magnification and the 120 indicating the 12 cm very wide angle optic width. We date the production of these large 'big eye' Nikon to circa 1960 and they are amongst the best binoculars we have handled in superb condition. A bespoke marine style plywood case for transport of the binoculars is included.

They have been professionally stripped and serviced before being hand polished and mounted on a polished heavy metal base from a ship.
