Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions (herein "1" to "12") intend to expand upon any information given on our website and supersede all information outside these terms and conditions. For the avoidance of doubt, the following states the terms and conditions of business

1. Vintage & Prestige

Vintage & Prestige is a trading name of Vintage and Prestige Limited. In all instances, Vintage & Prestige is given to mean Vintage and Prestige Limited and vice versa.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9:30am to 6pm Saturday / Sunday/ Bank Holiday closed. Emails may be responded to outside these hours. If lines are engaged please leave a message with your name and telephone number and we will reply to you as soon as a staff member is available.

Note: All of our items are stored either in a bank vault (watches and jewellery) or a secure location (bags, accessories and large items) and we require up to 48 hours to access. This may not always be possible during extended bank holidays or similar, e.g. Christmas, Easter, New Year.

3. Data

Vintage & Prestige collects data such as email addresses or telephone numbers with your permission in order to alert you to new stock, and to send you our journal or blog for marketing purposes. Vintage & Prestige collects personal information such as credit card details, proof of identity such as passport copy, proof of address etc with regards to safe guarding your transaction, and to provide a warranty on your purchase.

In all eventualities, your data is protected and will only be used in accordance with the Data Protection Act of 1998. We will not pass your details to any third party nor will your personal data be sold on to any third party.

Vintage & Prestige is the trading name of Vintage and Prestige Limited, registered in England and Wales company number 9531192. VAT registration number: 239851180. Vintage & Prestige Limited has a registered office: Camburgh House, 27 New Dover Road, Canterbury, Kent, CT1 3DN. Our mailing address is Unit 88, 30 St Dunstans Street, Canterbury, Kent, CT2 8HG. We do not encourage items of value to be posted by mail to us without prior contact and senders are liable for any items sent. Vintage & Prestige will not be held liable for any loss, damage or similar during transit nor until received by a Vintage & Prestige staff member.

The content and material stored, displayed and accessible on this website are the property of Vintage & Prestige Limited and may not be copied, circulated or stored by any user without the prior consent of Vintage & prestige Limited which must be delivered in writing.

The Vintage & Prestige logo, stamp and related materials are the intellectual property of Vintage & prestige Limited. Any other product, manufacturer, brand or logos displayed on this website are the property of their respective owners and no intention of infringing of such copyright is intended.

The use of the Vintage & Prestige website is only for lawful purpose and uses may not post any unlawful material of any kind.

The use of online payment methods is secured by Barclaycard global merchant service: Vintage & Prestige Limited do not guarantee the safety of your data outside of these methods.

Your personal data, if collected at the time of purchase, or as a subscriber to our news circulars, journals or blogs, will be kept secure using our best endeavours. Vintage & prestige Limited will not be held liable for any loss or damage a subscriber or user may suffer as a loss of confidentiality of such informations.

Our website, terms and conditions of business, terms, guarantees, warranties and any other trading shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and English courts will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to these terms and conditions of business as well as any other trading without limit to the Vintage & Prestige website.

7. Authorised retailer

Vintage & Prestige is not an authorised retailer or reseller of any brand, product or manufacturer unless explicitly stated.

8. Description: Condition and Photographic narrative

Vintage & Prestige describes through written and photographic narrative all of the items we offer for sale to the public using the best of our knowledge, effort and endeavours. On occasion, these narratives may contain errors relating to the description, condition, year of manufacture, price or dimensions. Vintage & Prestige urges users and consumers to contact us should there be any identified error, for any further description or should goods be received in a different condition to that described, or should there be an error. Decisions based on the content (not limited to the narrative) of the website are the responsibility of the user.

Vintage & Prestige reserve the right to amend material posted on the website without notice.

In the event that a product has been inadvertently priced incorrectly, and has been reserved or paid in full, Vintage & Prestige will immediately notify the user or buyer and will refund any difference should the price be higher than intended, or give the option to follow through on the purchase should the price be lower than intended. Any refund owing will be processed within 48 hours of response.

9. Payment Methods

Online and In person:

Payment methods can be found under BUY and PURCHASE sections of our website.

Vintage & Prestige ask that cards used are 3D secure.

Vintage & Prestige have a company policy whereby a maximum of £5000 in cash can be accepted for any individual payment. This falls well under the anti money laundering legislation and is to further protect you as our customer and the member of staff in receipt. Vintage & Prestige may in certain instances ask to have monies paid into a bank in person.

Vintage & Prestige reserve every right to withhold shipment beyond the usual 48 hour dispatch time in the instance that a card issuer or bank raises concern about the legitimacy of the transaction or if Vintage & Prestige has cause for concern about the legitimacy of the transaction. This is intended to protect you as a consumer against card fraud and similar.

Credit card fees are included in the price you receive after purchase. These are also included in the advertised price.

Postage must be to the billing address of the card you have paid with.

On occasion, Vintage & Prestige may request further proof of identity such as photo + utility bill, to protect you as a consumer against card fraud and similar.

From time to time, Vintage & Prestige will exhibit at trade fairs, festivals, vintage fairs and similar. Vintage & Prestige also operate a "by appointment" meeting service in London and Kent, UK. In these instances, we use secure mobile payment systems which can be used to transact. We equally accept bank transfer or cash (to our company limit) and under no circumstance will items be released without payment in full.

Vintage & Prestige do not offer credit or finance options, but may by prior arrangement reserve an item for extended periods with a 25% reservation deposit. This will need to be agreed in writing from Vintage & Prestige and under no circumstance will an item be released without settlement in full.

10. Warranty

Vintage & Prestige guarantees our products with warranties as set out under "warranty". I, details also to be found below. In the  instance that any items may not be repaired or serviced by our trusted service partners then a refund will be offered to the value of the amount spent, only in the circumstance the the item is returned to us in exactly the same state and with the same contents as it was sold. Vintage & Prestige are not liable for, and imply no liability for postage and shipping costs which will be born by the returnee.

Vintage & Prestige reserves the right to void any warranty if the item has been opened, repaired or tampered with by a third party unless expressly authorised by Vintage & Prestige in writing. This may include, but is not limited to, the opening of a watch case/back, repair to a handbag, replacement of parts or gemstones.

In all events, the decision to uphold or refute a warranty claim shall be at the sole discretion of Vintage & Prestige. This does not affect your rights as a consumer.

For warranty claims, Vintage & Prestige require notice that an item is being shipped. Vintage & Prestige are not liable for a returned item until received by a member of Vintage & Prestige staff.

Terms:

GUARANTEE/ WARRANTY
Vintage & Prestige guarantees all items we sell with the following warranties:

WATCHES
Vintage & Prestige guarantees all watches we sell as follows: A six month warranty from date of delivery for watches manufactured (or estimated to be manufactured) after and including 2000. A three month warranty for watches manufactured (or estimated to be manufactured) before 2000. Our warranty covers the correct functioning of the watch's movement and reasonable accuracy. Our warranty does not apply to/ cover the following:

1. Misuse, mistreatment, inappropriate use and/or wilful neglect which causes the improper functioning of the watch.

2. Watch bracelet, watch strap, watch case, watch glass (or plastic as applicable), buttons, pushers, crowns.

3. Water ingress, moisture damage or similar whether or not caused by the inappropriate use or the watch.

4. Water resistance.

5. Box, presentation item or similar

6. The opening of the case by a third party without the prior approval of Vintage & Prestige in writing.

Guarantees provided by the manufacturer in the case of authorised services, or if the item is sold with the balance of a transferable warranty or similar will be in addition to the Vintage & Prestige warranty.

Our guarantee provides for reinstatement and repair of items within the scope of our warranty and will be executed by our trusted service agent. In the unlikely event that the item is beyond repair, a full refund will be offered.

For warranty claims, we require contact prior to shipping. You are responsible for your property until received by Vintage & Prestige. Shipping to Vintage & Prestige for warranty claims is the liability of the buyer, and return shipping is paid for by Vintage & Prestige once works are completed.

OTHER ITEMS
Vintage & Prestige guarantees all other items with a one month warranty from date of delivery.

Our warranty covers the authenticity and proper functioning of the item.

Our warranty does not apply to/ cover the following:

1. Misuse, mistreatment, inappropriate use and/ or wilful neglect which causes damage to the item.

2. In the case of writing equipment: the ink, lead or equivalent.

3. In the case of jewellery: the chain, bracelet or moving parts with the exception of bangles; the claws or similar which hold gems or other display items in situ. We are not liable for the loss of any gem or precious decorative item.

4. In the case of handbags and wearable items: moving parts, size changes.

5. Scratches, scuffs, or similar incurred during day to day usage.

6. Any deviation from the manufacturers specification with the exception of items customised prior to sale by, or after sale by Vintage & Prestige.

7. Water resistance of wearable items.

Guarantees provided by the manufacturer in the case of authorised services, or if the item is sold with the balance of a transferable warranty or similar will be in addition to the Vintage & Prestige warranty.

Our guarantee provides for reinstatement and repair of items within the scope of our warranty and will be executed by our trusted service agent. In the unlikely event that the item is beyond repair, a full refund will be offered.

Please note that Vintage & Prestige will endeavour that works are carried out where necessary in the most timely fashion, but in certain instances, for example, owing to potential unavailability of skilled service agents, these repairs can take significant time and we are not liable for delays beyond what may be considered reasonable. For warranty claims, we request that contact is made prior to shipping. You are responsible for your property until received by Vintage & Prestige. Shipping to Vintage & Pretisge for warranty claims is the liability of the buyer, and return shipping is paid for by Vintage & Prestige once works are completed.

11. Postage and Customs

Vintage & Prestige include postage costs to addresses in the UK including Northern Ireland. We ship to overseas addresses by prior arrangement so please contact us before purchasing if you intend to require overseas shipment. Vintage & Prestige will not be responsible for customs and tax if applicable and these costs will always be born by the purchaser. We do not mark items as gifts or presents and will always declare in full any items we ship.

12. Returns

Vintage & Prestige accepts returns for online and shipped purchases in accordance with your rights as a consumer. Your legal rights as a consumer are available from Citizens' Advice Consumer Services 0345 040506.

If an item is faulty or damaged in transit, you must notify Vintage & Prestige within 48 hours of receipt. We will remedy any fault in accordance with our warranty.

Any cost of returns for online and shipped purchases (whether from domestic and overseas buyers) are the responsibility of the buyer.

Terms:

For online and shipped purchases:  you may return the item you have purchased by contacting us within 14 days of your receipt to notify of a return, subsequently returning the item us within 14 days of the notification, in order to receive a full refund of the price paid for the item in accordance with our returns policy, on the basis that it is returned in the same condition as delivered.
Upon receipt, you must fully inspect the items you have purchased and in the event that the item you receive is faulty or damaged in transit, then you are required to contact Vintage & Prestige in writing within 48 hours of receipt. You are responsible for the item from the time of delivery to you ;  in the event the item is to be returned, you are required to fully insure and ship (at your cost) using a tracked method  within the 14 day return period to Vintage & Prestige. The item must be returned complete with any accompanying products including (but not limited to) box, paperwork, spare links. Vintage & Prestige withhold the right to make appropriate deductions for missing or damaged items.

For purchases made in person: if an item has been viewed, inspected, purchased and / or collected in person, it may be returned within 14 days in the same condition as collected for a refund.

Refunds are made by bank transfer or to the credit/ debit card used at time of purchase, after our inspection of the returned item, usually within 7 working days of receipt.

Our standard warranty terms and conditions apply whether the purchase is made online and shipped or collected / purchased in person.
